EASTER FUN AT BLETCHLEY PARK

Released : Feb 15, 2012
Under 12’s are FREE. The family fun starts early this year at Bletchley Park, with Family Fun Wednesdays on the 4th and 11th April, as well as the Park’s annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Bank Holiday Monday, 9th April.

Designed especially for children from the age of four upwards, Family Fun Wednesdays feature a range of activities, including crafts, spy workshops, lessons in how to send Morse code, interactive displays about the role of pigeons during World War Two and specially-created children’s guided tours. Also for the first time they will include the Children’s Cinema Club. Children will be invited to see classic 1940’s-1960’s children’s film reels in our WWII Enigma Cinema, reminiscent of the Saturday morning clubs that many a parent or grandparent will remember.

There will be a traditional Easter Egg Trail around the Park on Easter Monday, with lots of chocolatey prizes to be won.  Everyone who completes the trail will also be entered into Bletchley Park’s prize draw with the chance of winning a special Easter surprise.

Children of all ages will want to join the ‘Hunt the Chick Trail’ in the Toy Museum, where chicks will be hidden among a huge range of 1940’s and 1950’s toys and household items; a real trip down memory lane for parents and grandparents.  There will also be a hands-on workshop, where the children will learn how to make an Easter-themed moving toy.

Bletchley Park’s play area will once again be open, along with the giant chess board and as always, a full children’s menu will be available in the café.

With Bletchley Park’s annual season ticket, you only have to pay for your first visit.  You can then return time and time again for up to 12 months for free, which means that you and the family can come to all our Easter and summer activities and only pay once. (Parking is a separate charge of £3 per car, per visit)
