Alan Turing Memorial Lecture

Turing Lecture

Each year, Bletchley Park hosts a lecture given by leading academics on the codebreaking work of Bletchley Park and aspects of the life of genius mathematician Alan Turing. On the evening of 5 July 2007, Bletchley Park codebreaker Oliver Lawn CBE gave the third annual Turing Memorial Lecture, entitled Alan Turing - Then and Afterwards in the presence of a full house in the Mansion at Bletchley Park.

Alan Turing is best known for his fundamental contributions to breaking German codes at Bletchley Park. The founding father of computer science, Turing also pioneered the fields now known as Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Life. The lectures aim to celebrate his life and to make his seminal ideas accessible to the general public.
